MEASURING GUIDE
WHY MEASURE YOURSELF?
Secondhand and vintage clothing comes from various sources, so standardized sizing can be tricky. Size standards have changed over time, and items may not match today's sizes. Labels can vary depending on brand, country, and style.
Focusing on garment measurements rather than the size label helps you find the perfect fit. Garment measurements should be taken with the garment laid flat. If you are unsure, compare the measurements with a similar garment you already own.
As it is a Swiss webshop and shipping is only available within Switzerland, the EU Size Chart is provided as a reference only.
All you need is a flexible measuring tape.
A. SHOULDER WIDTH
Body: Measure from one shoulder point across the back of your neck to the other shoulder point.
Garment: Measure from one shoulder seam to the other shoulder seam.
This measurement is relevant for blazers, blouses, cardigans, coats, dresses, hoodies, jackets, jumpsuits, shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts and tops.
B. ARM / SLEEVE LENGTH
Body: Measure arm length from your shoulder point to your wrist (arm slightly bent).
Garment: Measure sleeve length from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve cuff.
This measurement is relevant for blazers, blouses, cardigans, coats, dresses, hoodies, jackets, jumpsuits, shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts and tops.
C. CHEST / PIT-TO-PIT
Body: Measure chest circumference around the widest part of your chest, above the sternum and under the arms.
Garment: Measure pit-to-pit from one underarm seam to the other at the widest part. Double for chest circumference.
This measurement is relevant for blazers, blouses, cardigans, coats, dresses, hoodies, jackets, jumpsuits, shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, swimwear and tops.
D. WAIST
Body: Measure waist circumference around the narrowest part of your torso (about 2-3 cm above the navel).
Garment: Measure waist width at the narrowest part. Double for waist circumference.
This measurement is relevant for bottoms, dresses, jumpsuits, skirts, swimwear and any clothing that sits at or near the waistline (e.g. belts, blazers, coats and jackets).
E. HIPS
Body: Measure hip circumference around the widest part of your hips (about 20 cm below the navel).
Garment: Measure hip width at the widest part. Double for hip circumference.
This measurement is relevant for bottoms, dresses, jumpsuits, skirts, swimwear and any clothing that sits at or near the hips (e.g. belts, blazers, coats and jackets).
F. INNER LEG LENGTH / INSEAM
Body: Measure inner leg length from the crotch to the ankle along the inside of your leg.
Garment: Measure inseam from the crotch seam to the hem.
This measurement is relevant for bottoms, jumpsuits and swimwear.
G. HEIGHT / LENGTH
Body: Measure height from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet.
Garment: Measure length from the highest point of the garment to the lowest hem. The highest point is the shoulder seam, excluding high necks or collars.
This measurement is important for overall sizing and can be relevant for almost any type of clothing.
